11/1/2009 LaPorte's Tony Ellis is new District President
  Michigan City Lodge #980's Lynn Bowman passed the President's gavel to LaPorte's Tony Ellis as Tony begins his two-year term as District president. Tony, a Moose Fellow and Past Governor of LaPorte Lodge #492, looks forward to working with the Family Centers within the District.
10/11/2009 Michigan City, LaPorte, and Chesterton news
  Michigan City Lodge #980, LaPorte Lodge #492, and Chesterton Lodge #1623 reported unique Community Service events during the October District Meeting. Michigan City's Governor Tom Root reported on the Lodge's initial "Poker Walk". The proceeds from this inaugural Walk were used to support local Michigan City charities. LaPorte #492 reported on their efforts to support the Police Honor Guard and Chesterton reported on the results of the Chesterton Moose Rider's Fall Poker Run. The common theme of all of these reports was that good deeds were done for our communities while a good and safe time was had by all.
6/1/2009 Chesterton's Norman Ruge is District's newest Fellow
  Moose Legionnaire Norman (Norm) Ruge of Chesterton was conferred the Fellowship Degree of Honor at the Moose International convention in Chicago. Norm is a Past Governor of Chesterton's Moose Family Center #1623, a member of the 25 Club, and a member of Chesrton's Ritual Team. Congratulations Norm!
3/1/2009 Supreme Governor to Visit Elkhart and Chesterton
  Elkhart Lodge #599 and Chesterton Lodge #1623 have been selected to host Supreme Governor James (Jim) Gallagher during the Supreme Governor's annual visit to the Indiana Moose Association. Jim will visit Elkhart on April 18,2009, and Chesterton on April 20, 2009. All Moose members that would like to meet the Supreme Governor and State President Mack Short are encouraged to contact either of these Lodges for details on their upcoming Supreme Governor's visit.
