Centralized Dues
Update |
| |
Members whose
membership dues are due on September 30th will be the first members
to enjoy the benefits afforded by the new centralized dues program.
The dues renewal notice that every member will receive beginning
with our members whose dues expire on September 30, 2005, will have
a perforated, tear-off coupon at the bottom of the dues notice. The
back of the new dues notice will contain important, complete
instructions regarding how to return your dues payment. Please use
the new centralized dues payment service as any dues payment made at
the Lodge will just delay the processing of your payment and the
issuance of your new membership card. More information about this
new program is available at your local Moose Family Center. |

Chesterton Ritual
Staff International Runners-up |
| |
The Ritual Staffs
chosen that represented Indiana did quite well at the 2005 Moose
International Ritual Competition. All three Indiana staffs
finished in the top third of the rankings. The staff from
Chesterton's Moose Family Center, the 2005 Indiana Moose Association
State Champions, finished second in the International competition
and the staff from Peru, Indiana, finished third. While EVERY Ritualist is a noteworthy individual, Brothers Ron Cox (2nd at the
Sergeant At Arms) and Bill Choisser (3rd at the Prelate) are to be
especially commended for their top-three designations. |

Edward T. Pace of Michigan City Family Center #980 Honored With The
Pilgrim Degree of Merit |
 |
Edward T. (Ed) Pace of Michigan City,
Indiana, Moose Lodge #980 was one of fewer than 200 members of
the Loyal Order of Moose from throughout the world to receive the
Moose Fraternity's highest honor, the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, in a
ceremony conducted on May 28, 2005. In keeping with Moose tradition,
the ceremony was held in the House of God at Mooseheart, IL, 40
miles west of Chicago. The Pilgrim
Degree, currently held be fewer than 4,000 of the approximately
950,000 men of the Loyal Order of Moose, is the ultimate reward for
exceptional devotion to the Order. The degree is generally earned
only by men who have given more than a decade of consistently
outstanding, above-the-call-of-duty service to the Moose Fraternity,
the support of its nearly 300 dependent children and teens at the
Mooseheart City & School, and the support of the roughly 400 senior
citizen residents of Moosehaven, the Moose Fraternity's retirement
community near Jacksonville, Florida. The Pilgrim Degree is
conferred only once a year - on a late spring Saturday in the
House of God at Mooseheart, the magnificent multidenominational
cathedral built in 1960. Members of the Pilgrim Degree of Merit are
entitled to wear a much coveted gold blazer. Brother Pace's blazer
will be presented in a special local ceremony at the Michigan City
Moose Family Center at 1:00pm on Sunday, July 24,2005. (From
the July 2005 "Informer" - Michigan City's newsletter) |
